2019 Northeast Regional Media Literacy Conference

The 2019 Northeast Regional Media Literacy Conference (NRMLC) invites session proposals from educators, practitioners, cultural workers, academics, scholars, and researchers for our two-day conference on November 8 and 9, 2019.

Goals for the 2019 conference:

Day #1: To become immersed in innovative media literacy learning practices including inquiry, analysis, and composition for K-12 and university practitioners.

Day #2: To share scholarship around media literacy learning, formats, genres, and platforms.

This year’s theme is —

Media Literacy as Lifelong Learning

Friday, November 8, 2019 and Saturday, November 9, 2019

Rhode Island College

600 Mt. Pleasant Avenue

Providence, RI  02908

The 2019 NMRLC is an immersive two-day gathering designed to inspire, challenge, and equip educators, librarians, academics, researchers, and community media workers about the power and potential of media literacy.

We’ll share how we come to know our worlds through media and how media literacy processes help us to bring new voices to the stories that surround us. Come share in the excitement of the newest and most innovative ideas in media literacy practice and awaken your appreciation of the promise of media for learning and life. Come alone, or bring your team. Together, we’ll begin to re-imagine what could be through media literacy.
