Getting Here

Rhode Island College (RIC) is located in Providence, Rhode Island’s capital city, about 3 hours north of New York City and about 1.25 hours south of Boston. There is Amtrak service to downtown Providence.  A Peter Pan Bus service arrives in Kennedy Plaza, Providence: affordable, with electric plugs and WiFi. 

The nearest airport is TF Green, which is about 21 min (11.4 mi) via I-95 N. The TF Green Airport website provides information about transportation options to Providence. Thrifty Car Rental provides reliable shuttles to their location from the airport terminal, should you decide to rent a car. 

Conference Site = Gaige Hall at Rhode Island College

LOCATION: Rhode Island College, 600 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence, RI 02908

Our conference takes place art Rhode Island College, which is located in a residential neighborhood about 10 minutes by taxi from downtown Providence. We will be holding the event in RIC’s recently renovated Gaige Hall — the greenest building on campus. Registration is in Gaige 200 — accessible by elevator. Parking Directions 

Free parking is available at H lot, which is only about 50 steps from Gaige Hall. Enter from Fruit Hill Avenue, go left on College Road, go left on 6th Street, and take a final left into H lot. Download an annotated campus map (PDF) to find your parking spot on campus and navigate to Gaige Hall.


Providence has plenty of great hotel rooms which are located about 3 miles from the campus. We recommend the Hotel Providence in downtown Providence. Rhode Island College dorm rooms may be available If you’d like to stay on campus. Here is a doc with information on reserving a dorm room.  There are also a number of Airbnb spaces in the neighborhood area near the college.

Getting Around and Experiencing Providence

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority offers a trip planner if your hotel or inn is outside comfortable walking distance from the RIC campus.  The Convention and Visitors Bureau provides information about attractions and events, should you be able to extend your visit to our capital city.
